Definition of School

According to section 3(1) of the Education Ordinance, "school" means an institution, organization or establishment which provides for 20 or more persons during any one day or eight or more persons at any one time, any nursery, kindergarten, primary, secondary or post secondary education or any other educational course by any means, including correspondence delivered by hand or through the postal services.

The Launch of Electronic School Registration Certificates

With a view to providing more electronic services that better meet the needs of the public, the Education Bureau (EDB) will launch electronic certificates of school registration following the provision of
e-Application forms.  Starting from 1 July 2024, the EDB will issue 'Certificate of Registration of a School' and 'Certificate of Provisional Registration of a School' in electronic form to school supervisor if the application for school registration is approved.

B. Extension of School Premises

Attention:  Please ensure that sufficient postage is paid to avoid unsuccessful delivery of mails.  Any underpaid mail items will be disposed of by the Hong Kong Post.
