Welcome Message

Welcome to the website of the Education Bureau.

The prospects of individuals, the well-being of families, the qualities of people and the progress of civilisations all hinge on education. By providing quality and diversified kindergarten, primary, secondary and special education, and post-secondary education with emphasis on both academic as well as vocational and professional training, we cater for the learning needs of students at different stages. Our mission is to help them become lifelong learners who are able and virtuous, with a sense of responsibility, visions and love for the country and the city, being ready for future challenges and opportunities.

SED
Dr Choi Yuk-lin, JP
Secretary for Education

Respect for teachers is an honourable tradition in Chinese culture, and on the shoulders of teachers is an immense and lasting responsibility. Through continuous enhancement of the teaching profession, we strive to enrich students’ knowledge and skills while creating a caring and inclusive learning environment to help them establish positive values and attitudes, so that they can all develop to their full potential and contribute to our society and our country.

The Education Bureau is fully committed to providing professional services. We will, in a proactive manner, maintain close communication with different stakeholders and work in partnership with them to promote continuous improvement of education in Hong Kong.

The success of education requires a teaching force with a student-centred mindset and relies on the support and trust of the entire community. I look forward to joining forces with all of you and together we will build a better tomorrow.

On this website you will find a wealth of information including updates on education services and activities, the Bureau’s organisational structure and policy highlights. Your comments and suggestions are most welcome.
