School-Based Support Scheme (SBSS) Grant


School-Based Support Scheme Grant for Schools with Intake of Newly-arrived Childeren

The Education Bureau (EDB) has introduced in September 1997 the School-Based Support Scheme (SBSS) Grant for schools with intake of children newly- arrived from the Mainland. With effect from April 2000, the SBSS Grant has been extended to include non-Chinese speaking (NCS) children newly joining the local education system and returnee children.

Objectives

Provide suitable support services to newly-arrived children to cater for their learning and adaptation needs.
