Speech at Topping-out Ceremony of St Paul's Co-educational College Primary School (New Campus)

25 January 2008 (Friday)

Topping-out Ceremony of

St Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School

New Campus

Speech by Mr Michael MY Suen, GBS, JP

Secretary for Education

Professor TAM (Sheung-wai), Dr Chan, Ms Lee, Ladies and Gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure to join you all at this Topping-out Ceremony.

Founded in 1915, St. Paul ’s Co-educational College established its Primary Section in 1945.  The College upholds the Christian Spirit of “Faith, Hope and Love” in nurturing its students.  In addition to pursuits of academic excellence, students are instilled with positive values towards life and the commitment to serve.  Many graduates of the College have become outstanding members of the society.  The remarkable achievements of the College owe much to the devotion and concerted efforts of the Council members, principals and teachers throughout the years.

Today marks a new milestone for the College.  Blended well with the natural surroundings, this new campus is designed to provide an ideal learning environment to cater for the needs of the education reform in the 21st century.  The upgraded facilities and the provision of generous learning spaces will enable the College to provide quality primary education to its students, laying a good foundation for their future pathways.

Looking ahead, I am confident that the College will build on its existing strengthens and scale new heights in the years to come.  Thank you.
