The Advisory Committee on Gifted Education

The Advisory Committee on Gifted Education was set up in April 2017 to advise the Secretary for Education on, apart from the use and management of the Gifted Education Fund, strategic development of gifted education in Hong Kong as well as new measures and initiatives for promoting gifted education.

 

Terms of Reference

To make recommendations to the Secretary for Education on gifted education policy and matters related to the Gifted Education Fund on:

 

  • the overall policy, strategic direction, development, implementation and evaluation on gifted education and talent development;
  • the enhancements on closer alignment of schools, the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education and tertiary education sector in promoting gifted education;
  • the use of the Gifted Education Fund to facilitate the development of gifted education; and
  • the monitoring measures of the Gifted Education Fund and its use, as well as the operation policies, administration and other arrangements.
