Second School Allocation Exercise 2018

Introduction

The Second School Allocation Exercise 2018 has started.  Two new special school premises under planning at Renfrew Road in Kowloon Tong are open for application by eligible applicant bodies for (1) operation of a new special school for children with mild intellectual disability (MiID) at Site A, and (2) operation of a new special school for children with MiID and moderate intellectual disability (MoID) with boarding facilities for children with MoID at Site B.

Submission of Application

Applicants who are interested in applying for the school premises should follow the procedures below:

1. (1) Applicant bodies should submit a proposed school plan (of not more than 10 pages for Site A and 15 pages for Site B including all annexes, plus a two-page executive summary).  They may also make reference to the school(s) that they are operating and the respective performance of the school(s) to substantiate their cases.
2. (2) For the proposed school plan, contents in pages exceeding the page limits (as mentioned in (1) above) would not be considered.
3. (3)
   For each complete application, applicant bodies are required to submit the following documents -

   1. (i) one original copy of the duly completed application form;
   2. (ii) one copy of detailed information on their eligibility [i.e. incorporation document and certificate of exemption from tax];
   3. (iii) 22 copies each of the proposed school plan, executive summary and list of operating schools run by the applicant bodies with addresses and types (if any), together with 2 CD-ROMs containing such information; and
   4. (iv) one copy each of other supporting documents as listed in the Application Form.

   The above documents should reach the following address below no later than 5 pm October 15 2018 :

4. (4) Late submission or incomplete applications, as well as application via email, will not be accepted.
