  1. Objectives
    • The Learning Circle on “The enhanced School Development and Accountability framework” (LC) aims to :
      • develop the professional capacity of school leaders to lead the team in conducting school self-evaluation (SSE), particularly in :
        • the integrative use of the data from the SSE tools developed by the Education Bureau (EDB) and school-based data and information to conduct evidence-based SSE
        • the good use of SSE data and information to identify students’ needs in their development of “healthy lifestyle” and “information literacy”
        • foster professional exchanges about SSE among the participating schools
        • gather effective school practices for dissemination
    • Target Participants
      • Primary, secondary and special schools (4-5 representatives from each participating school, including the Principal, Vice Principals and core members responsible for SSE)
      • Priorities will be given to schools with major concerns / development focuses related to "healthy lifestyle" and/or "information literacy" in the previous or current school development cycle.
    • Enrolment
      • Applications are made on a school basis.
      • Interested schools should fill in the online enrolment form on or before 29 November 2024 (Link to the enrolment form).
      • Selected schools will receive a notification email by 4 December 2024. (Schools may assume that their applications are unsuccessful if they do not receive any notification by 4 December 2024.)
      • Participation of the Principal is required. Each school should also nominate 3-4 school personnel, including the Vice principals and core members responsible for SSE.
    • Details about the LC
      • The LC aims to enhance the professional capacity of school leaders to lead the team in conducting SSE through LC meetings / school visits and dissemination seminars. Selected schools will become partner schools. The details about the LC are as follows :
        1. Briefing Session on the LC
          • All partner schools are required to attend.
        2. LC Meetings / School Visits
          • The partner schools will form LCs for the primary and secondary sections respectively, and participate in around 2-3 LC meetings / school visits arranged by the Quality Assurance Division (QAD) of the EDB, focusing on the following themes for professional exchanges:
            • the integrative use of the data and information, and the use of the refined tools to conduct SSE
            • the planning, implementation and evaluation regarding the promotion of "healthy lifestyle" and "information literacy"
        3. Professional Exchanges between Partner Schools and Other Schools
          • Each partner school can invite other schools (e.g. schools under the same school sponsoring body or schools in the same region) to conduct professional exchanges for enhancing the effectiveness of SSE.
        4. Territory-wide Dissemination Seminars on School Practices
          • The partner schools will be invited to share their experience and good practices at the Territory-wide Dissemination Seminars on School Practices (the Seminars).
          • The sharing of the partner schools will be recorded and uploaded onto the EDB webpage for all schools’ reference.
    • Expectations of Participating Schools
      • The partner schools are expected to :
        • actively participate in the LC meetings / school visits and the Seminars
        • share their experience and resources with other partner schools; the copyright of these materials (including the presentation materials and the video recordings of the schools’ sharing at the Seminars) will be co-owned by the EDB and the schools concerned. The EDB also reserves the rights to compile and refine the materials before disseminating them for educational purposes
