Get ready for the release of HKDSE Examination results

The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority will release on July 21 the results of 2021 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination. This is a big day for Secondary 6 students. To get ready for a new chapter in life, Secondary 6 students should think positive, grasp the latest information on multiple pathways and work out all possible options.

As always, the Education Bureau (EDB) provides students with appropriate support. Students may browse the one-stop Designated Webpage for Secondary 6 Students (www.edb.gov.hk/s6/en), which contains information on further study opportunities, including degree programmes, sub-degree programmes, vocational and professional and training programmes, Diploma Yi Jin programmes, non-local courses in Hong Kong, further studies in the Mainland or abroad as well as on employment.

“Three useful tools for the release of the HKDSE Examination results”, namely e-Navigator, Further Studies and Career Map, and Compass@HKDSE, are available on the Designated Webpage to help students prepare for the release of HKDSE Examination results. On e-Navigator, students may search for local institutions’ programmes by their predicted or actual HKDSE Examination results. According to the matching results, they may make plans for further studies more comprehensively. For students who choose to pursue further studies, in order not to miss the necessary procedures before and after the release of HKDSE Examination results, they may turn to Further Studies and Career Map for dates on which universities and post-secondary institutions announce their offers and course registration, etc. The Map also provides access to employment information that students may find useful in planning early for their future. Compass@HKDSE provides essential information about multiple study pathways and various supporting services.

As parents will support their children in preparing for the HKDSE Examination results release day, the EDB will pre-record the Parents’ Seminars on “Get Prepared for the Release of HKDSE Examination Results – the Latest Information on Multiple Pathways” this year in view of the latest development and risk assessment of the COVID-19 epidemic. Topics of the Seminar include comprehensive support measures for the HKDSE Examination results release day, the latest information on multiple pathways as well as experience sharing by a post-secondary student on diversified study pathways. The videos and presentation slides of the seminar in Chinese will be uploaded to the “New Academic Structure Web Bulletin” (www.edb.gov.hk/nas/en) by mid-June 2021. Parents may visit the above website for the latest information, so as to get well-prepared and provide guidance and support for their children to plan for their future pathways.
