Get ready for the release of HKDSE Examination results

The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority will release on July 20 the results of the 2022 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination. This is a big day for Secondary 6 students. To get ready for a new chapter in life, students should be proactive, keep themselves updated on the multiple pathways and plan well ahead.

As always, the Education Bureau (EDB) provides students with appropriate support and timely updates on the Designated Webpage for Secondary 6 Students (www.edb.gov.hk/s6/en). The Designated Webpage contains information on further studies, including local degree and sub-degree programmes, vocational and professional education and training programmes, Diploma Yi Jin programmes, non-local courses in Hong Kong and further studies in the Mainland or abroad, as well as information on employment.

“Three useful tools for the release of the HKDSE Examination results”, namely e-Navigator, Further Studies and Career Map, and Compass@HKDSE are available on the Designated Webpage to help students prepare for the release of HKDSE Examination results. On e-Navigator, students may search for local institutions’ programmes which they meet the minimum entrance requirements by inputting their predicted or actual HKDSE Examination results. They may make plans for further studies more comprehensively. For students who wish to pursue further studies, in order to follow the necessary procedures before and after the release of HKDSE Examination results, they may turn to Further Studies and Career Map for dates on which universities and post-secondary institutions announce their admission results, acceptance of offers, and course registration. The Map also provides students access to a variety of employment information that students may find useful to make plans that suit their needs for their future. Compass@HKDSE provides essential information about multiple study pathways and various supporting services.

As parents will support their children in preparing for the HKDSE Examination results release day, the EDB will pre-record the Parents’ Seminar on “Get prepared for the Release of HKDSE Examination Results – the Latest Information on Multiple Pathways” this school year in order to reduce social contact and thus effectively contain the potential spread of COVID-19 in the community. Topics of the Seminar include comprehensive support measures for the HKDSE Examination results release day, procedures of programme choice modification and announcement of offers through JUPAS as well as the latest information on post-secondary studies and multiple pathways. The videos and presentation slides of the seminar in Chinese will be uploaded to the EDB’s New Academic Structure Web Bulletin (www.edb.gov.hk/nas/en) by mid-June 2022. Parents may visit the above website for the latest information to get well-prepared and provide guidance and support for their children to plan for their future pathways.
