Biliteracy and Trilingualism Campaign – “One-minute Video Production Competition” Open for Registration
Since its establishment, the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) has in fact been complementing the efforts of the Government to enable the people of Hong Kong to become biliterate and trilingual. To raise the public’s awareness of the importance of biliteracy and trilingualism further, SCOLAR has launched the Biliteracy and Trilingualism Campaign (the Campaign), collaborated with its programme partners to organise a series of theme-based activities for the school sector and community between December 2023 and May 2024.
SCOLAR organises the “One-minute Video Production Competition” (the Competition) under the Campaign. It invites students to produce a one-minute video with the theme “Hong Kong and me – our dialogue, our story”, to share their dialogue with Hong Kong or the most memorable story about themselves and Hong Kong. The Competition is now open for registration, day students of all kindergartens, primary and secondary schools (including special schools) in Hong Kong are invited to participate in the Competition through their schools. The deadline is 7 March 2024.
Apart from the Champion, first and second runners-up, awards of the Competition will also include honourable mentions, the best performance in language, the Most Creative Award, the Most Popular Award, and the School Award. Results are to be announced on the activity page in May 2024. Winners’ teachers / parents / guardians will receive notifications and invitations to the award presentation ceremony.
